Semi-visored caps on tailors in an early 18th century cartoon. Potentially the same style as above.

A gray and a red version of the cap I've sewn myself.

Also the red cap in foreground almost seems like a style seen in an image of tailors from the early 18th century. It's a style I actually make.

They purpose devoting unusual attention to the ladies in the department of Habit making. There will also be a copious share of time and talent allotted to the orders of military gentlemen. A constant supply of superfine and other cloths, cassimeres, and vestings are kept, and every change in fashion noted on its arrival. An assortment of Camblet and other Cloaks, Gentlemen's Linen and Cravats, of superior quality, kept ready for immediate use, and will be disposed of on very reasonable terms."

And in the big city of Philadelphia (1820 pop. 63,802), Leeds & Campbell have partnered up and will devote attention to ladies' habits and items required by military gentlemen. #tailors

Lexington Kentucky Weekly Press, Monday, February 28, 1825: "Splendid Cloths, Cassimeres Sc. T. KANE, Merchant Tailor, Main-street, Lezington, K. Returns is grateful acknowledgments to his friends and informs them that he has just received direct from Philadelphia, a well selected assortment of the very BEST SUPERFINE CLOTHS, CASSIMERES, &e. &c. and is enabled to supply his customers with every article in his line now worn by gentlemen, of such materials and workmanship as cannot be excelled in the Eastern cities, and at the lowest possible prices for READY MONEY. K. keeps on hand a small assortment of FINE CLOTHING READY MADE, for the accommodation of gentlemen travelling &c. on very reasonable terms. RUSSIA RIDING BELTS, bracing VESTS. &c. &c."

In Lexington Kentucky, (1820 pop. 5,270) T. Kane has received some cloth in from Philadelphia. Note the availability of ready made clothes for travelling gentlemen. #tailors

Charleston South Carolina Courier, Monday, February 28, 1825.: "EMPORIUM OF FASHION, NO. 9 BROAD-STREET, (OPPOSITE THE UNITED STATES BANK.) JOHN M. NOLAN & CO. MERCHANT TAILORS & DRAPERS, RESPECTFULLY inform their friends and customers, that they have just received, by the latest arrivals, from their correspondents in England, a fresh supply of the most superb Cloths, Cassimeres and Vestings, Of various colors, and of such qualities as were never before imported into this market, and which they offer for sale at such prices as will defy competition by any house in the United States. In the great metropolis ofCharleston, South Carolina, (1820 pop. 24,780) John M. Nolan's EMPORIUM OF FASHION has a new shipment in from England. Note also the ready-made clothing and the Lafayette novelty items. #tailors

Charlottesville Virginia Advocate, Saturday February 19, 1825, p.4: "TAILORING. The subscriber respectfully informs the citizens of Charlottesville and the adjacent country, that he has taken a room in the west wing of Mr. David Isaacs' house, on the main street, where he intends to conduct the above business in all its various branches. From the experience he has had in all the large and most fashionable cities in the United States, and his determination to execute his work, in a style of neatness and durability, with strict regard to the varying fashions of the times, he cherishes the hope that he will merit and receive a liberal share of public patronage. All orders will be thankfully received, and the subscriber relies for success, in his undertaking, on the punctuality which he will never fail to observe, in his promises, together with his prices and the style of his workmanship. M. GEORGE. # M. George wishes to take two or three boys as apprentices to the Tailoring Business. Application to be made immediately.

Those who have been in the habit of employing; them, individually, will find in the connexion an additional inducement to continue their patronage; and the public may rest assured, that no exertions will be wanting on their part, to perform with punctuality, to the extent of their ability, and they trust to general satisfaction, any work that may be entrusted to them.
