Photo of a bridge with three low arches, reflected perfectly in the still waters of the Chinese Garden. Off to the side and behind the bridge are Chinese pavilions, willow trees, and evergreens, with carefully placed natural rocks and flowering bushes. A true Ming Dynasty-style (16th-17th century) scholars' garden. Lots of shades of green.
Large multicolored koi - goldfish - gather in the water below a footbridge, hoping for a treat from a passerby. Some are brilliant orange, some have orange, red, white, and black mottling, some are pure white, and others have variations of those color schemes. One lone bright yellow koi fish is at the top right.
A single tall pink lotus blossom reaches high above the large lotus plant leaves and seed pods, its own nascent seed pod bright yellow in the center of the flower.
A closeup of a bright orange-red Flame Skimmer four-winged dragonfly sitting on a branch with green and yellow leaves. The dragonfly is almost entirely this vivid color, including the veins of its wings.
If you visit Los Angeles, please do make sure you take a trip out to #TheHuntington. Aside from the museums and library, there's a wonderful day to be had outdoors, particularly in the spectacular Chinese Garden, Liu Fang Yuan, which means Tthe Garden of Flowing Frangrance. 😍
