#statstab #453 Gradient plots {ggdist}

Thoughts: Like these as an alternative to half eye plots.

As part of an assignment at #ENSAI school of statistical engineering I gave for assignment a contribution to the #ggplot2 ecosystem. My students picked open issues from @davidgohel.bsky.social's #ggiraph, @schloerke.bsky.social's #ggally, @mjskay.com's #tidybayes and #ggdist, ...

Using tidybayes with the posterior package tidybayes

#statstab #64 Using tidybayes with the posterior package by @mjskay

Thoughts: Going #bayesian means a lot of wrangling the posteriors to get the info you want. A crucial skills I'm still learning, but invaluable.

@mjskay.com - With the #tidybayes package, is it possible to extract the expected difference between lowest and highest points during in the waves I have marked with red? Or do I need to switch approach?

This is from a GAM model fitted with brms

In #tidyBayes' spread_draws, is there a way to match posterior samples from nested pooled/random effects? e.g. (1|x1/x2/x3). for each x1:x2:x3 I'd want the matched x1:x2 and x1 samples in two additional columns (@tjmahr @mjskay), so I can easily add them up.

So, 3 yr old loves this sticker on my laptop. When she sees it, she says it’s time to β€˜do rocketship things!’ Which mean plotting things in #rstats with #ggplot. It started with sine waves, but now she’s really into crazy posterior visualizations with #tidybayes and #brms.
