Some insects are more odd than others. Here is a Plane lace bug,
Corythucha ciliata that feeds on sycamore and plane trees. It is native to N America and has been introduced and spread in Europe. It is 3-4mm large.

Nahaufnahme einer Tingis cardui (Netzwanze) auf einem grünen Blatt. Das Insekt zeigt die charakteristische netzartige Struktur der durchscheinenden Flügeldecken mit deutlich sichtbaren Adern und kleinen Kammern. Außerdem sind zahlreiche anliegende feine graue Härchen auf der gesamten Oberfläche zu sehen. Der bräunlich-beige gefärbte Körper und die filigranen Antennen sind gut erkennbar. Im unscharfen Hintergrund befindet sich eine gelbliche Schwebfliegenlarve auf der Blattoberfläche.

Die 3-4 mm große Distelnetzwanze (Tingis cardui) saugt am Pflanzengewebe verschiedener Cirsium-Arten (Kratzdisteln). Unterhalb der Wanze sitzt eine Schwebfliegenlarve (unscharf).
