Some insects are more odd than others. Here is a Plane lace bug,
Corythucha ciliata that feeds on sycamore and plane trees. It is native to N America and has been introduced and spread in Europe. It is 3-4mm large.

A detailed macro photograph showing the underside of a lace bug (family Tingidae) mounted on a triangular paper point against a bright pink background. The insect has intricate, delicate wings with a lace-like, netted pattern and a dark-colored abdomen visible beneath. Its slender legs and antennae are clearly seen, and the mounting pin is partially visible in the background.

A rare view of a Tingidae (lace bug) from the underside. Everyone admires their pretty, lacy tops, but few notice their bizarre-looking undersides. #entomology #macrophotography #tingidae #hemiptera (If you point mount with shellac, you can dissolve it in alcohol)
