As such they do experience winters- albeit ones much milder than up here in new jersey. It wouldn't surprise to learn wild African Green Toads behave similarly- slowing down rather than truly hibernating.

Food bowls with lipped edges are nice, and do a good job at keeping mealworms from getting out. Perfectly #oliverthetoad sized to boot! The only issue is that sometimes an isopod will tumble in and also be unable to get out.
