Toriel says "And I had to cut down all the foam boards to an even size with an X-Acto knife before giving them out for the craft project..." In the second panel, Alphys says "Is... I guess that's just part of the job when you're teaching the little kids?" and Toriel replies "Alphys, it was not one of my students who chewed it." (Jockington is visible in the background unhinging his jaw to swallow a hot dog) In the third panel, Alphys asks Toriel "Um, did an animal get in your house?" And in the fourth panel, Toriel replies "I... think it may have just came like that at the store and I did not notice because it was in a multi-pack." She remembers pulling aside the shower curtain at home to find Kris (already dressed for school) chewing up the edge of one of the foam boards and only being able to ask "Why... are you doing this?"

Panels from a Deltarune fan comic, where Toriel is reading "How to Care For A Human" in her chair in the living room. Kris approaches. They are super tiny, at that age where they're barely aware they exist. They ask her "Is that a librarby book?" and Toriel replies "Yes it is, my child. Can you read the title?" Kris points at the book and says "How... to... care for..." before gasping and asking "Are we getting a human???" Toriel averts her eyes, saying "Um, well..." before Kris interrupts her with "Because I want a grizzly bear."
Kris excitedly says "They're so cool and they're so fluffy and they're big enough to ride instead of the car so you and Dad don't need to complain about gas prices anymore!" Crude, crayon-like drawings of a "COOL BERR" and the family riding a "BAER" appear behind them.
