Look how sleek and elegant the UI was in the day of the iPod. Simple, relatable, not a shitty bunch of visual assets blocking the sense of order and searchability. How I miss it […]

The update to the Search bar widget on Android phones. As usual, there's the 'G' button on the left, and a buttons on the right to use the microphone or camera for verbal or photographic entry of a search term. The sparkly magnifying-glass button has been moved from the right side to being on third the way in from the right edge, where there's an awful chance you'll tap it accidentally when you mean to tap in the text entry field.
Previous version of the Search Bar. On the left side of the field is the multicoloured 'G' Google logo. On the right side of the field are the usual buttons for microphone (to begin verbal entry for a search) and a camera (to begin visual entry for a search). A few pixels to the right of the bar, and encapsulated in the same border as the bar is a button with a sparkly magnifying glass icon. This new button is located where the other buttons used to be, and it's easy to press by accident with the base of your thumb while holding your phone and tapping anywhere else on the screen. This launches an annoying "AI" feature, there seems to be no way to make it go away, and it appears the choice of location is a Deceptive Design.
Android UI Deceptive Design Pattern Department: A few weeks ago, we crammed an AI button into the Search bar widget. But, nobody used it, even when we tricked people into tapping the button accidentally if the corner of their phone pressed on the base of their […]

a very narrow section of the bottom of the column view in OSX26. it shows that the handles one uses to change the width of a column are obscured by the horizontal scroll bar. One can barely see the control underneath the translucent scroll and one of the handles at left. Previous versions of the OS held the controls above the scroll bar but OSX 26.2 doesn't move them out of the way of the scroll bar.

What's the name for this type of stupid UI bug?
I see something on my screen and I click on it.
The UI gets redrawn or shifted so items on the screen are shifted
The device finally acts on my click but applies it to some UI element that moved under my cursor after I clicked
Is the correct […]

Why did you design your new tabs so they look like a search bar 😳 SO SAD...

Can I suggest that if the people asking you to take an action on their app don’t know how to take that action themselves or explain to you how to do it, then perhaps the said app isn’t fit for purpose ?

That #TripIt still forces me to use AM/PM irks me, but this latest #UIFail takes the cake...of course we could blame the OS for removing the scrollbars, but I really had to spend a hot second figuring out how/where to set the the time to "11".
Is it really that hard to adjust the volume of a tapped video based on current time and location? The fact that creators still have to write “⚠️ Volume warning” feels like a clear fail in UI/UX design.

Dear @microsoft.com and #ourtlook #UxUi Designers: instead of turning on a literally 5 difffent pride modes in my email client I would like to have a little bit more info in which account I switch. Simple “S”, “I” or a MS or google logo is not that informative.

These screenshots compare two states of a cancel services form. The background color is very light pink. The first shows a checked checkbox with a confirmation statement. There's an active "keep plan" button and a disabled "Confirm and cancel plan" button. The second image shows the checkbox checked with a white background and the "Confirm and cancel plan" button active. This can be confusing for users since the checkbox appears to already be checked, leaving the user with no option other than to click the "keep plan" button or close the app. By clicking that checked checkbox, the background turns white, barely visible against the light pink background. Only then is the "Confirm and cancel plan" button active.
Look at this ridiculous deceptive UX pattern on #SoundCloud. The top image has the checkbox checked but the "confirm cancel" button is disabled. When you click on the checkbox, it then fills in white and the "confirm cancel" button is enabled.

We found some UI stupidity on Papa John's UK website tonight.
