Danu is the Celtic Mother Goddess of water and is symbolized by free-moving animals such as fish, and seagulls. She is said to be the Mother of the faery people known as the Tuatha De Danann. They were exiled from Ireland for reasons unknown and the Goddess Danu helped them return to Ireland in a “mystical mist”.
