10-Jan-2026. Mild winter so far. First Queen (Danaus gilippus) I've seen since "Uri" freeze in February 2021. Primarily a neo-tropical lep. This one is a male: black scent patch on dorsal hindwing.

Larva feed on Milkweed (Asclepias) as do Monarchs (D. plexippus).
