The next is “UU Theologies of Sin and Punishment,” on April 2nd at 6 pm. https://clfuu.churchcenter.com/calendar/event/215589229

People all around the world are being asked to hold the impossible- hold discipline and rigor in their faith while being starved and abused. What does faithfullness mean to the project of liberation? Perhaps we need ritual, liberating theologies and community now more than ever.

As the daughter of a New Orleanian, as a student of Justice, and as a UU I refuse to use Chat GPT. I believe that is a call from our faith. Let me tell you about why.

FUUNO Social Justice Activism: Looking Back and Moving Forward Together
Worship Leader: FUUNO Social Justice Team
Worship Associate: Beverly Rainbolt

As we begin the new year, we look into our collective history and examine the role of the Doctrine of Discovery and how it still impacts our world today. As UUs we reject this narrative that is responsible for many of the injustices past and present and we commit to tangible ways we can move forward together to advance social justice as a congregation in 2026 and beyond. Join us as we make our resolutions together.

An Invitation for Sunday's Service:
This Sunday, as members of the Social Justice Team discuss the Doctrine of Discovery, we invite you to bring any piece of writing (book passage, newspaper article, song lyrics, etc.) that contains a message of white supremacy or dominance over peoples, land, policies, and institutions. During the service, as you are comfortable, you will be invited to discard this narrative by tearing or crumbling these pages and freeing yourself of its message.

**Covid Safety: masks are available and may be worn at each attendee's discretion as needed.

Watchnight Reflections: Keeping Watch in This Hour and Every Hour
Worship Leader: Melissa Gamble
Worship Associate: Margot Anderson

Building on last year’s Watch Night reflection, this service invites us to reflect on the sacred spaces we create, where communities keep watch for one another, resist ongoing enforcement, and sustain hope. Through practices of vigilance, gathering, and mutual care, we explore how collectivity strengthen resilience and resistance. Together, we continue the call ignited in Black communities and churches in 1862: Watchman, Watchman, please tell me the hour of the night.

Come Know with Me: Lessons from Mushrooms and Mothers
Worship Leader: Mich González
Worship Associate: Tucker Barker

When your rage is fit to choke you, find your Laughter. When your heart is breaking, find your Gratitude. And when your Spirit is weary, find your Empathy. And if you’re not sure where to find it, or have been confused by all the messages that conflate it with weakness, believe me when I tell you that it is actually our greatest strength and most accessible medicine. Empathy is what sprouts from the seed of Knowledge, which blooms into Love and fruits into the acts of nurturing upon which all that is good and beautiful turns. Knowledge is awareness of realities born of experience. It is not conjecture or opinion, but understanding from the conscious perception of Truth. And to nurture any sentient life is to help them grow—not as we see fit—but as their inherent Truth demands and yearns to grow. We were born to learn and know the deepest Truths of ourselves and one another—to help each other grow and to flower into our fullest selves—to reach the highest levels of enlightenment that we can through Love, before our time is up. There can be no Love without Empathy, and there can be no Empathy without Knowing. Come Know with me.

I'm concerned Bill #C9 *could* be abusively misused by religious communities to suppress #PeacefulPublicProtest against #ClergyAbuse & other injustices & abuses outside their "places of worship".

What's your opinion about this possibility?
