also I've long felt that the most constructive and creative thing to do may be to prefiguratively develop key parts of such a thing independently, perhaps along models of #GovZero ie #vTaiwan. Build and be the housing department you want to see in the world, etc. [topic label: [Oregon] #OpenHousing]

Hey @audreyt.org, I'm tentative about how much tuning is still needed, but would tools building on principles like this have made it easier for a wider #plurality of people to sensemake around the #vTaiwan Uber consultation? t.co/734qNlMdeh
For anyone interested in #vTaiwan and #PolisLike #collectiveintelligence platforms, this summary of "Digital Democracy 2030" by #plurality practitioners in #Japan is SO EXCITING! h/t @blu3mo.bsky.social for the share 🙏 #civictech
If you're looking for a good polished video to explain #vTaiwan, IxD awards gave a Future Voice award to them a few years ago, and it had a good introductory video (edited together by @chrysaora.bsky.social, I recall 🙏🏻🙏🏻)

Big players are highly networked, but non-privileged citizens left to figure out the processes with little support. Which feels odd to me, given that the original killer app of polis, #vTaiwan, was a radically public grassroot project whose power largely originated outside institutional power.
"In Dec/2014 Jaclyn Tsai attended a #g0v -sponsored hackathon and proposed the development of a neutral platform where representatives from the public, private & social sectors to debate… #digitaleconomy policy… g0v partnered with #Taiwan gov to start #vTaiwan in 2015" www.nytimes.com/2019/10/15/o...
How do you sustain & grow #participatorydemocracy during a pandemic?
There are great #civictech & #participatorybudgeting tools like @decidim_org @consulproject #vtaiwan @Mentimeter & support orgs like @digidemlab & @demsoc to help, as we're learning on digital tools webinar!
