A dramatic and misty landscape from above the Dettifoss waterfall in Iceland. In the background, a wall of dark, jagged cliffs stretches across the image. From the right side, the powerful Dettifoss waterfall thunders down into a deep gorge, sending up thick clouds of mist that drift across the scene, partially obscuring the view. In the foreground, there is a steep, grassy slope covered in lush, mossy green vegetation. The ground appears uneven, with a large crater-like depression in the center and a small stream trickling through it. A steep, grassed fell face with a triangular peak in the distance. Where the rocks are cleft in the middle a horsetail waterfall tumbles in two steps of white water, the first about a quarter the drop of the lower. There is a boarded, metal-railed walkway climbing over the fallen rocks at the bottom to give a closer view of the foss, although closer up you lose much of the sight of the higher level, but the walkway gives some perspective to give an idea of the scale of this very pleasing foss. The sky is a clear pale blue
