A couple of pinkish Hemp-agrimony flowers, that are good for attracting butterflies to the garden, bask in a brief interval of sunshine after heavy rains in a lush wild section of our garden. Some blue Globe Thistles can be seen in the background.

We had one tremendous Wagnerian storm last night and the little patch took a bit of a hammering but the wild area near our shed seems to have fared quite well. Anyway, here is one of my favourites, Hemp-agrimony plus a nettle.
The Wild Garden is a 12x12 inch collage on canvas. I used acrylic for the background. The hummingbird, flora and fauna are magazine paper. I usually seal my work with varnish to protect against fading from UV light.

My wild, unkempt garden with a native lawn is teeming with life. Three skinks darted anxiously by, blue banded bees are whizzing around inspecting flowers and the eastern spinebill perches on the stakes in the garden to take a sip of nectar from the salvias. #wildgardens #wildlife #biodiversity
