A bright red amaryllis flower, nearly 20cm across, stands just inside a glassed door. Outside the door and somewhat blurred by being out of focus are the spindles of the back deck rail and several potted (and otherwise) plants. The back of the flower is reflected on the glass of the door. The sun lights the flower from behind.
Sadly, our kitchen door no longer looks like this. This picture was ten days ago when the last of our winter crop of amaryllis was at its peak. We won't see the like for another nine or ten months; we miss it.
