Dec 2025 - a close-up of some blooms of a Napuka (Hebe speciosa). This native shrub lines many a footpath, yet is also found along coastal cliffs or areas with scrub-brush and flax. Its striking purple flowers are a lure for many a curious bumble bee (one seen in mid-flight on the flower to the left). In the background, the glossy green leaves of the dense shrub provide a lovely contrast to the purple.
