Explore the latest #altc blog recapping the Managing Digital Assessments webinar by our Digital Assessment SIG. From transforming exams at Heriot-Watt to piloting MCQs at LSE, it shows how institutions innovate with automation, accessibility, and collaboration.
Think Meta's AI has it's work cut out. Kept telling me it could generate images...
A5 #LTHEChat find like-minded people who also see the bigger picture. Work in partnership with academic staff and with professional services staff to action change. Look at things from both perspectives. Get curious as to how the institution and its processes work.
A4 #LTHEChat recognise that this third space exists. If you work in an institution long enough you see the cycle of centralisation/decentralisation but what we need is people to work between and across boundaries instead of in silos.
A3 #LTHeChat I'm not a fan of the term, it needs a lot of explaining. Prefer the term academic related but that seems to have gone out of fashion.
A2 #LTHeChat Learning technology, academic quality, learning design, student advisors...
A1 #LTHEChat only heard the term third space practitioner yesterday. Been around long enough to see the term academic related come and go out of usage. I tend to work across academic/professional service as well as school/institutional boundaries so, I guess, yes.

Well done to everyone who achieved CMALT and Senior CMALT this year. I couldn't be there in person, but I'm there in spirit (and online). #ALTC24
Six pillars for designing 'beyond blended' learning. #ALTC24
Do lecture recordings impact attendance? Students sharing that in person has value, recordings are not a substitute; opportunity to ask questions easier in person; format of lecture not engaging in person; individual motivation; issue of marked absent when ill, even if using recordings(!) #altc24
One of the barriers for students is knowing about the learning technology available to them - students need to know what to use. Accessible technology should be advertised to all students - "a rising tide lifts all boats". #ALTc24
Universities have responsibility to promote learning technologies with students and ensuring accessibility (and not be gatekeepers). #ALTC24
It's important to prepare students for tools used with their industry/discipline. E.g. for Computer Science (gitlab, github, azure etc), though this can be difficult due to the wealth of tools used within industry. #ALTC24
Students need help with AI literacy to enhance the learning journey rather than skipping the learning journey. #ALTC24
Day 2 of #ALTC24. Student panel. Key points: Keep it simple. Ensure the tech is integrated. Make proper use of those tools and be clear what the purpose is. Ensure hybrid students feel included. Ensure online spaces are well designed - include good signposting.
Thanks, just joined blue sky today for #ALTC24 so this list really helps!
Thought provoking session from Andrew Larner at #ALTC24
#ALTC24 is on the slides on zoom but I'm seeing both bring used too.
Use tech in a way that your discipline uses tech. #ALTC24
Students want feedback on how to improve, reassurance they are on track, options for recovery if they aren't. #ALTC24
Build in flexibility into learning spaces and curriculum design. Offer choice... "There is no such thing as a standard student".#altc24
"All learning takes place in real, physical spaces" #ALTC24
