I Confess - Allison Luterman I stalked her in the grocery store: her crown of snowy braids held in place by a great silver clip, her erect bearing, radiating tenderness, watching the way she placed yogurt and avocados in her basket, beaming peace like the North Star. I wanted to ask, "What aisle did you find your serenity in, do you know how to be married for fifty years or how to live alone, excuse me for interrupting, but you seem to possess some knowledge that makes the earth turn and burn on its axis-" But we don't request such things from strangers nowadays. So I said, "I love your hair."

Different babies take differently to their first visit to a beach. Some get very excited and others get petrified. Once the feeling settles, babies instinctively explore and are amazed at how they can leave footprints in the wet sands. The last line captures the cyclic nature of life.

What a great story!! 😂 Speaking of surprised looks on faces, I used to work in film and during a scene with zombies, a suspended platform collapsed and the extras, all in zombie makeup, fell to the floor. It was like a 20 foot drop. No one told the paramedics. It was bad, but it looked a lot worse!

Thanks, Tré! They live outside in containers near my compost bin. When I feed the compost, the fruit flies scatter and the plants feed. The more bugs they eat the more red they turn. Mwa haha!

Here is a black and white nature photo of an acorn split in have, revealing its heart shape inside. The seed half rests in the upper left side, its top slightly tilts left on a fallen log. In the background, textures of cracks and wood chips dip in and out of the bokeh. Fun fact: The average oak produces 2,000 to 10,000 acorns a year. During the tree’s “mast year,” which occurs every 2-5 years to ensure survival, it produces 10,000 acorns. Also known as bumper crops, this massive output helps the seeds escape being eaten. Nature is incredible. I couldn’t help but wonder, what about our output of love? Is more love in our lives the answer to our survival? Focusing on building supportive communities, friendship, and nurturing the land feels right.
