Our new study is out! 🎉🚀
Annulate lamellae aren’t just static reservoirs, they dynamically supply pre-assembled nuclear pores to the nucleus (~1/3 of new NPCs) in normal somatic cells. A new pathway for nuclear pore assembly supporting nuclear expansion.

We are extremely happy to welcome Xiao Lyu to our team! She will pursue her PhD focusing on cancer-specific vulnerabilities. We wish you every success, Xiao! 🤞💪😄
Merci 🙏
We had a little champagne and some delicious cakes to celebrate the acceptance of our new paper 🤩 We also killed a snowman…🫣😉
I have the great pleasure of hosting Dirk Görlich at the IGBMC this Friday, and I very much look forward to the stimulating and insightful discussions.
Secret Santa paid a visit to the Sumara Lab today! 🌟🎅🎄
We are excited to share the revised version of our preprint elucidating the role of Annulate Lamellae in the assembly of Nuclear Pore Complexes #NPCs during early interphase.
Big thanks to Junyan Lin and all collaborators for their fantastic work! 🙏🎉
Our own Dr. Xiaotian Liu presented a talk on the role of asymmetric dimethylation in nuclear pore assembly at the #EESNucleus EMBO meeting. We couldn’t be prouder 🤓😎😁😁
It was a fantastic #EESNucleus meeting! Thank you so much to the organizers and the entire supporting team 🙏😁
This was indeed a fantastic trip, thanks so much for hosting me! I very much enjoyed learning about fantastic science from you and your amazing @sumatalab.bsky.social team and the great IGBMC community!
A new photo of my amazing team! 🤩🌟🥰
I had the great pleasure of hosting Christian Schlieker @schliekerlab.bsky.social for a seminar at IGBMC @igbmc.bsky.social
Thank you 🙏, Christian, for sharing your inspiring science and ideas, and for such engaging discussions with PIs and my team. A truly wonderful visit! 🤩😁
Minimal CDK and maximal Damien Coudreuse lab! Big congrats 🎉🎈🍾
Today we welcomed our new postdoc, Dr. Marintia Nava @marintianava.bsky.social, to the lab! We’re so happy to have her on board and wish her the best of luck as she begins her exciting work on Annulate Lamellae. Welcome, Marintia! 😁🤩🌟

Last day to submit abstracts! Nuclear cell biologists, mechanobiologists, et al. don’t miss out - amazing interdisciplinary line up: computational biology, biophysics, development, genomics - we will have it all!
Did you know that all nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) are not the same? @luskinglab.bsky.social propose a new hypothesis for how nuclear mechanics may impact the compositional plasticity of NPCs with implications for tissue-specific diseases caused by NPC dysfunction.

Why are low-complexity domains (LCDs) in proteins important?
#LaskerAward winners Dirk Görlich & Steven McKnight showed that they are critical for intracellular transport and organization. #Lasker2025
