Enjoying the British India Challenge today on #Wikitree. I managed to work on 18 profiles today. Admittedly, most of them only needed a tweak here and there. See you tomorrow for more!

You can take a test abo for 4 weeks for 1€. Great way to get more subscribers! That disturbs me that a newspaper is using German historical guilt to get more people to sign up to their product. They should make this tool available to everyone, free of charge.

I found the article here www.zeit.de/wissen/2026-... but it appears only to be available to subscribers.

Through the Barricades Part 9: Is this Love?

After a break for Greek Easter, I got my head down and wrote part 9 of Back in the Day in Berlin. It's now Autumn 1986 and I take a peek behind the Iron Curtain. Take a look 👇

It would be a real shame if you gave up on Wikitree just because of one idiot. There are plenty of lovely people still beavering away on it. It is such a wonderful (free) resource. Please don't give up on it.

Mostly only adding leafy veg, no fruit or tomatoes

Composting in Mediterranean countries is not easy, especially if you aren't there all year round. The compost needs extra watering. I have an automatic watering system for the garden, but not the compost. Here in Greece it often doesn't rain between May and October.

Trying out a new method if "feeding" my Mediterranean garden: instead of composting kitchen veg leftovers, chipping them up finely and using them as mulch. This way I protect the earth from the sun and get more organic material into the clay soil. Anyone else tried this? 🌱

#Atomkrieg #IranWar

Negotiating tactic or a nuclear threat? Was Trump serious when he threatened to kill "a whole civilisation in one night"? Just the ravings of a madman, or the basis of the concept of nuclear deterrence? Read my post on @ippnw.bsky.social Peace and Health Blog:

But every single story is different and finding the key to each one is the challenge

This year has seen my research and writing change a lot. Context has become ever more important. The records give us clues, but newspaper articles were often a breakthrough. Although they only tell one part of the story and are often inaccurate.

Finished this painting today in the studio. Not sure what to call it yet. Experimenting with painting with my hands, scraping with a palette knife, then using a glue gun to add texture, and then adding highlights with fingers. Acrylic and glue on canvas, 30 X 40 cm.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced mitochondrial DNA test - anyone know any offers?

What else? 😂

I'll take a look at that. I'm still working on my OPS on Marrick in Swaledale but got distracted by India

Started work on the letter A for the A-Z challenge. But at this rate of research, I'll never ever get to Z. I'm thinking of giving it a miss after all. So much else to do...

Inspired by Greece, these are my first paintings since getting back into the Koroni studio in March. "Summer to Winter" is already reserved; Spring is still on offer. Enjoying myself immensely, trying out new media.

The Woman I Inherited Unknown woman, possibly 4x or 5x great-grandmother

My DNA sent me down an Anglo-Indian rabbit hole and I came up understanding how Mother India was part of my family. This is the last post for Women’s History Month and the Storytellers’ Challenge on Ancestral Women.
