Wow! Saw my first ever one of these on Sunday. Is it quite easy to see in your area Donna?

There's lots of it on the slacks at Mullaghmore in Sligo, it's quite a sight.

Very pleased to have spotted this hungry Narrow-bordered Bee Hawkmoth today at Cotswold Water Park.
Didn't realise how scarce it is at the time! But was certain I'd never seen one before, so got photos to help identify it.
Cheers James Hunter for confirmation πŸ‘

Reckon the might be a male Philodromus dispar, on my kitchen floor today, then let him loose in the garden. Beautiful 😍
Confirmation appreciated πŸ‘

Fluffy Dandeloin head in seed, which, when blown, is, by legend, supposed to tell the time - however many times you have to blow to remove all the seeds, that is the hour of the day.

Hare Orchid - Leporella fimbriata

One of the first orchids of the season to flower in our Perth Hills area. Happy to see a handful of freshly opened flowers today with more buds yet to open 🌿

Meh πŸ˜‘ only good gulls are Ross's, Little, Kittiwake and Sabs. Common is nice though.
See you at the next GBHG so we can debate it in person πŸ˜‚

Favourite moments from this morning's walk at Castor Hanglands NNR- a chorus of Nightingales, cool pools of Bluebells under rugged oaks and the first flowers of Wood Melick, possibly the most elegant of woodland grasses...

Scientists sound alarm after making disturbing discovery while studying human brains: 'This stuff is increasing in our world exponentially' "Now studying tissue from cross-sections of a single brain to find out whether certain regions have higher ... concentrations."

β€œThe average human brain may contain the equivalent of a whopping 5 plastic bottle caps’ worth of microplastics.” 😟😳

Hmm, isn't that a brand rather than a piece of intellectual property?

Thanks to Kevin McGee for sharing his find with me: - extremely rare in the Midlands, only one previous record. At least three Steatoda albomaculata, white-spotted False Widow, today at Hartlebury Common 😍😍 this one making short work of a Mootled Grasshopper nymph.
Better pics to follow
