I was focused on the hummingbird… and almost missed the tiny standoff happening right below it.
Not sure who thought they had the right of way here.

Great Blue Heron taking off in flight. His wings are in a semicircle around his body and his feet are in the air a few feet above the ground.
I have a few more shots of this Great Blue Heron yet.
Hope you aren't tired of seeing him. Here he is with his wings looking like an umbrella.

The Justice Dept’s theory of the case— that the group that single-handedly disassembled the Ku Klux Klan defrauded its donors by concealing that it was using paid informant to do that work and more— has about as much merit as the now-dismissed charges against Jim Comey.
Years ago I decided that taking one day off after travel to recover, do laundry, etc, was an overall gain in work efficiency for the week following a trip. I highly recommend this strategy! Also I am terrible at actually implementing it and I may need to file a formal complaint against myself.
I know it’s Tuesday, but I am still in love.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, which is best known for its tracking of hate groups, said that the Justice Department has launched a criminal investigation into the nonprofit regarding their use of informants.
Close-up of a Eurasian jackdaw perched among leafy branches with clusters of red-orange blossoms. The bird is shown in profile, its glossy black body contrasting with a pale grey nape and striking pale blue eye. Sunlight highlights the layered feathers on its back and wing, while the soft, blurred background of flowers and greenery adds a warm, colourful backdrop.
Oh my goodness my notifications are off the scale. I will try my best to answer everybody and look at as many #BirdOfTheDay entries as I can. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. 🙏 #birds #Perches&Petals #photography #ECK
A photograph of a male Redstart that has a beautiful orange chest with a black face. He is perched on a dead branch with his head turned to the right as viewed just showing the top of his slate grey cap and shoulders. It is a bright sunny day with yellow flowers of gorse bushes just showing in the foreground and bright green spring leaves blurring in the distance behind.
First time out with my camera in a while yesterday and was delighted to see some gorgeous Common Redstarts. This male perched beautifully in among the gorse bushes for a few moments 🧡 📷 🪶

A Great Blue Heron, a large blue and white and rust colored bird with yellow eyes and beak is launching into flight at a pond.
The Great Blue Heron gave many beautiful views in the short encounter I had with it. He was pointed out to me by some people who just walked right past him. It's nice to get a little spotting help sometimes. He was a handsome bird! Nice curves too.

In a small Phase 1 trial led by Dr. Balachandran, some patients with pancreatic cancer (one of the deadliest cancers) reached 6-year survival.
This is why sustained investment in science & research matters.

The crucial thing to understand about Peter Thiel is that he adores "The Lord of the Rings" and no one in human history has ever so utterly completely missed all the salient points of what a book is about.

Atlantic Ocean sensors confirm a consistent two-decade decline in the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. Data from four mooring arrays across the western boundary verify a weakening transport signal below 1,000 meters, validating concerns of long-term circulation shifts.
A hiking path up a mountain
I have been wanting to hike for YEARS but unable because of my spine injury.
It’s taken one year and four months of determination and working hard on my mobility, but today I DID IT.
I could cry. You people have no idea. I never, ever thought I’d be able to do anything like that ever again. ❤️
Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

A Sandhill Crane is relaxing in the reeds while it's partner is sitting on their nest in a small retention pond.
I had a great day birding yesterday. Against all odds, the Sandhill nest in the small pond is still going. I think they only have one egg now, but they are both still nesting. This is perhaps the female, but can't tell, who was standing nearby in the reeds while the other was on the nest. #birds

Hey @nytimes.com, I already reported this earlier this week.
And the G650s you mention? I reported on those in FEBRUARY.
You credit NBC News and WSJ for first reporting parts of your story. Please credit me, too.
My latest.
I’ve been watching the media coverage of the murders of Dr. Cerina Fairfax and Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer.

If you kill your wife, you don’t get to be called a “husband” any more.
You’re her killer.

Photo by Kort Duce A song sparrow sings at a nature area in Longmont, Colorado. In this vertical color photograph, a prominent dead branch rises through the center of the frame. Perched near the top, just above center, the sparrow tilts its head back with its beak open in mid-song. The song sparrow (Melospiza melodia) shows its characteristic brown upperparts with dark streaking, white underparts marked with bold streaks, and a distinct dark central spot on its breast. The background is visually striking, with three transmission lines crossing the frame and creating a unique, softly blurred bokeh effect.

Ossoff: I don’t know who placed those trades, but I’ll tell you this: the SEC better find out. And if they won’t, when you elect this new majority in Congress and you give us gavels and subpoenas, we will.
