I also have Long Covid, and I don't want you to get it. It has taken nearly everything from me. Covid is a word people do not like to say, and a reality people do not want to face. But it's an airborne virus that you can protect yourself from. So please do. #MaskUp #Covid
There are no words that adequately describe how much I miss being able to go out to gigs, to parties, to festivals, just having a basic normal social life.
Long Covid took all that from me, and it could take it from anyone.

I once lived in a city.
Long before, it was destroyed in a war.
The government kept this a secret.
That would be harder now, but I'm interested in why people just “don't talk” about important ideas.

mask up, because #covid isn’t over, and it is contributing to more young people becoming chronically ill and developing / coming out of remission of all sorts of cancers.
This is a problem.
I'm seeing more people wearing masks and I'm wondering if people are hearing about more people getting covid and that's why (wastewater surveillance data is from March 22nd so it's not useful right now)

No worries! I said sorry because I’ve been part of volunteer work where we failed to help the very people we meant to help because we were disorganized. I still feel bad about it.
They’ll only get you to my level. Too tired to do anything but my job, which I couldn’t do if it wasn’t home-based. Too tired to have fun that doesn’t involve the TV or my phone.
#POTS, #LongCovid and #ME/CFS are extremely limiting. No cavalry is coming to save you. Plan accordingly.
And it’s likely to be the case with #LongCovid. They don’t care. They’re not researching it hard. It’s complicated and the chance for glory and profit is low, so they just can’t be bothered.
Yes, there are *some* treatments that help if you’re unable to get out of bed. But…
It was about 30 years before I was finally diagnosed with #POTS, which had been misdiagnosed and treated as “anxiety” for decades. Finally armed with a diagnosis, I asked what the treatment was?
No treatment. Nothing they could do. Still the case with POTS.

He treated that, but the fatigue remained. And it has remained all my life. I could never keep up with my peers. Just going to work 40 hours a week was more than I could manage, and I didn’t know why. I begged doctors to test thyroid and anemia, but no one would diagnose anything.
I don’t like to take away anybody’s hope, but here’s a dose of reality. Right before I turned 17, I was a hyper kid. Loads of energy, couldn’t sleep more than 5-6 hours a night. Then suddenly I got fatigue. A doctor dx’d me with bronchitis, which was odd because I hadn’t had respiratory symptoms.
When would I consider myself ‚recovered‘?
When my life is back to how it was pre-Covid. When I can swim, cycle and run again. When I can make plans with friends and expect to keep them. When those plans don’t have to be scaled back for me. When I can work again. When I feel well again.

It is not good enough that Long Covid sufferers have to form support groups to get any kind of help.
It is not good enough that Covid is still circulating leading to more Long Covid and we are not using the tools available to us, particularly clean air measures.

Sorry. I would reach out again - they’re run by volunteers, and sometimes contacts fall through the cracks.

Do you have any mask blocs in your area? They’re a great source of free masks.
You can use them more than once - the nose wire or straps will wear out before the mask material does.
Crashed after some activity last week. Since Saturday can't get out of bed, can't stay upright, can't stay awake. It's been days.
I know everyone is different but I just need to hear from people who've been through this. How long?

And “You don’t look sick” means “you don’t look like a preconceived pop culture notion of what sick looks like to me.”
People say "you don't look sick."
That's because you don't see the 23.5 hours I spend in bed to get those 30 minutes sitting.
Long COVID isn't invisible. You're just not looking.

Take precautions! 😷💉
This is why we shouldn't fuck around with this. Covid is still disabling people. I've seen it happen to a friend ( who got it from a work event FFS). Open the windows and wear a mask in busy places. You think it's not an issue until it happens to you or someone you care about.
I live in perpetual fear of either Spouse or I developing long covid.
You should too.

For COVID, during late January 2026, that number was 45 per cent. In other words, out of 100 patients in hospital with COVID, 45 would have been admitted to hospital without COVID and been infected during their stay. #PublicHealth #InfectionControl #CleanAir #MasksInHealthcare
There is discussion of wearing masks to prevent transmission of disease on my timeline. I wear a mask in busy and/or poorly-ventilated places. I've not been ill, even with a cold, since June 2024, when I got covid at a work conference. It's so easy and normal to me now.
