A pair of skunks with large white stripes on their backs emerge from behind some green and yellow vegetation on the left of the frame, with their noses to the ground as they forage for food. They are near the center of the frame, with their noses nearing the right edge of the frame.

I'm doing a #SkunkySaturday for something different today. These two #skunks were from a family that was living near my house in 2024. They usually emerged around dusk to forage, and thankfully they didn't notice me open the window poke the camera out!

A Great Blue Heron stands in the water on the left side of the frame in right-side profile. There are some out-of-focus ducks drifting in the background in front of the out-of-season brown march grasses at the edge fo the water.

Following an extremely unsuccessful venture out with my camera this morning during which I saw one distant squirrel and heard a single distant crow without any other animals to be found, here is a #Heron #StandingInWater from January for #BirdOfTheDay.
