A graphic with a purple background features a stylized illustration of a historical figure in grayscale, facing right. In the upper left corner, a dark blue circle contains the text “BEHIND THE SCENES MINIS” in bold white letters. Below the illustration, the text reads “Shots and Sidi” in light gray. At the bottom right, the podcast title “STUFF YOU MISSED IN HISTORY CLASS” appears in white and blue.
Tracy and Holly share tetanus shot stories and discuss getting boosters. They then discuss the egos of European explorers in Africa.

My morning project. Eventually I will have the chart from 1803-1878 (the range at I have all three records). The two notable death spikes are in 1806 (smallpox) and 1812 (Tuberculosis). #OnePlaceStudy
I wasn't looking for this one! on 6 Nov 1819 Thecla and Magdalena Dziedzic (sisters) got marred in Dzwonowa.
Where’s the Meszecsov family from? Seems very Slavic for a German researcher!
Nice! I’ve found a few of those in my family, seems to be more common then we think. I believe I have 1 double wedding in my OPS.
Not per se a challenge but I’m indexing records from my OPS, and put more data into my RM file.
Oh than you!!!
Hmmm very familiar, it’s almost like I take all my classes there.

All shares appreciated!
In 1911, Nesen Bader was held at Ellis Island to determine if he’d be a drain on US resources (“LPC”). If so, he’d be deported. Luckily, he got to stay & later had a child: Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Don’t shut immigrants out for not seeing the good they bring right away.

#OnePlaceWednesday. Image: Photo looking over the top of a drystone wall at the garden on higher ground on the other side, and the four bay, two-storey brick-built house beyond. The garden is mostly grass, with small trees and shrubs (all leafless as it is Winter), and lots of Snowdrops in flower close to the wall. Many of the large, flattish stones from which the wall is made are covered with green moss. One-Place Studies, where family history and local history unite.

I meant to respond much earlier! Do you know what partition your ancestors came from, should say on most records either Austria, Russia or Prussia/Germany?
Also what does Connemara mean, in the context of “may god forgive ye! You’re nothing but a Connemara”
Question for Irish genealogist and historians, I was just reading an account of my 3rd great grandma who was a survivor of the Famine and she believed in Fairies, I’m wondering how common was such a belief for people of her era, particularly those near Cork.
I'm confused what did he do? Did Elon take information off of NARA?
I bought it in Dordrecht funny enough
They were young teenagers, quite impressive to have written a code like this!
