A selection of beautiful golden pyrite ammonite fossils from the Jurassic Coast. Once upon a time, these fossils were common, but because the layers they come from in the cliffs haven't eroded recently, they are quite hard to find.

Good luck Water Vole spotting, I think Iβve only ever seen one before, when I was a kid.. in the local burn.The water was orange in places, I learn something to do with acidic rocks, or dumped metals, was a fun place to play though!

From Oct 2025 - taken at a friend's house, I snapped a photo of a new Nasturtium bloom, just starting to unfurl. Tiny Spring raindrops are sprinkled across the surface of the delicate, crepe-y orange petals, the centerpiece of the photo. Surrounding the flower are the veined green leaves of the plant. A large raindrop - gently cupped by a leaf - cuddles up next to the bloom. Beauty in small things.

And it all happened because of mushrooms
A juvenile cormorant resting in their usual place after a bout of fishing. This cormorant is sat on a protruding tree stump in water. Head turned to the right after I stood on a twig and was spotted.

Windflower - wood anemone - otherwise known as thimbleweed carpets shady forest floor.
They sure were, amongst this pretty thimbleweed windflower carpet, providing lush playground for them to hop, skip and scurry. π
