Two story home under construction with scaffolding ready for brick exterior application. Pallets of brick in front. Next door is an older brick home with an addition in back that isn't very visible.
Bricks at the ready for Fill-In Friday!
The builder of this two-story infill home also rehabbed (with an rear addition) the adjacent 19th century oldie that was long vacant and threatened with demolition after a big fire. Nice!
Unfortunately I think this gets the 10 years at 90% AHM abatement doesn’t it? LCRA did it without a developer or a plan. But really they had AHM shadow designated.
No goddam data center 1000’ from the dorm would be a good start.
The City of St. Louis: where neglectful & deadbeat developers get priority treatment over the residents that government should be serving.
One of many topics on my draft list for the #EandA Public Hearing on 4/24 at 12:30 p.m.
You must preregister to testify. Zoom only.

Mamdani hasn't had time to really think about all that space he now has, because he spends most of his time at City Hall and around New York City. He tries to keep a semblance of his old life by getting around the city on foot, by bike or train. "If you spend every single day driving around in a tinted window security detail, you will have a very specific view of the city," he said. "You actually meet other New Yorkers and you break out of the bubble that so many have come to expect of politics, where politicians only seem to be spending time with other politicians or the people who donated to make them politicians."
I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.

You mean. “Inflation rate”.
They donate money to politicians.
Barzantny making demo-by-neglect progress with another fire last night at one of his vacant buildings. This time at 4534 Manchester. 4538 next door had a fire in 2024
Those people must want new jobs. We will remember.
There appears to be some foundation work for maybe a beaver dam….not much else.
Didn’t we get a bond on this? So it wouldn’t just sit vacant and dilapidated?

Agenda now posted for
1:45 pm Tuesday, April 13th St. Louis City Board of Public Service www.stlouis-mo.gov/events/event...
Agenda shows #DeadbeatDeveloper Armory Data Center on Agenda as Tabled item.
🚨 I think it only takes a motion to Take from the Table to bring it up.

Old enough to remember when Cara Spencer was vehemently against the airport privatization heist, calling out insider dealing, opacity, exclusion of the public and a predetermined outcome.

Crosswalks marked in the Italian flag design
A large crowd out walking, they had to dodge cars who did not want to yield to them
A sign warning “caution children” while having 25 mph speed limit sign next to it in a deeply residential neighborhood
A corner market, Vitale’s Bakery, all decked out in Italian colors while a big truck is parked close to a crosswalk, causing an obstructed view with failed daylighting
Yesterday’s walk was in The Hill neighborhood of St. Louis because I wanted to grab takeout lunch while out. The neighborhood was full of people walking on a dreary day but also drivers fighting for the closest spot and obstructing crosswalks. Drivers tried to hit me 4 times while in a crosswalk.

It appears that SLDC staff are under instruction not to reply to my emails. Someone is reading the messages, given today's posting of the April 9 Public Hearing (Zoom) for the creation of Port Improvement District No. 2.

Just wait until these eyesore monstrosities want to come to your neighborhood. Goodbye trees. Expect to hear a constant, electrical humming, warmer temperatures and higher energy bills. Fight like hell to keep data centers out of your area.
This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.
Are we all just sitting in our other states feeling insanely jealous right now, or is it just me in STL?
Once again, St. Louis City State Rep. Marty Joe Murray has stepped up to do nothing but look after himself.
This time he's talking out of both sides of his mouth about data centers.
Mayor Spencer needs to pull the plug on the #ArmoryDataCenter
Just like Lyda pulled the plug on the airport privatization scam in 2019.
This Conditional Use Permit vote by St Louis Board of Public Service is entirely perfunctory. BPS members serve at pleasure of Mayor Spencer. It's their job to rubberstamp this #DeadbeatDeveloper Data Center. This is all on Mayor Spencer and Alders who provide no checks & balances of power.
🚨🚨 Agenda posted for City of St. Louis Board of Public Service meeting on Tuesday, 3/31 at 1:45 p.m.

And not a single St. Louis City elected, other than School Board, interested, let alone appalled and acting on this, and the #DeadbeatDeveloper counting on an awful Data Center proposal to save his ass.
