A brief lunchtime visit to Clifford hill GP today, the drake Lesser Scaup was still on the river and showing well, the drake Smew was on the deep water lake. #northantsbirds

That’s a shame.

Thanks! Some do, quite a few were staying out of the meadow and had dogs on leads. Just 1 person in the meadow with 3 dogs off leads when I was there. I presume that public access to the meadow is allowed?

#Northantsbirds The Tundra Bean Goose and 14 White-fronted Geese were still at Islip meadows (Thrapston) this morning, and showing nicely until disturbed by a dog walker. A pair of RCPochard were also on Town Lake. #ukbirding #digiscoping

Nice pics. Sorry to hear about the damage to your car and stolen kit. Can only imagine your anger and frustration 😡.

Hope they stay for a while. Happy Christmas!

A quick dash to Clifford Hill GP this afternoon to see the juv American Golden Plover, a great find by Pete Gilbert👍. I got a couple of quick pics looking into the light. I’m sure there will be better photos to come from others. #northantsbirds

A good July record, difficult to tell from 1 pic but it looks like an eclipse Drake. Also some funky head patterns on the Mallards, probably a bit of Eastern Spot-billed duck in there!

Clifford Hill GP this evening 11 Black-tailed Godwits out in the middle, frustratingly one was colour ringed but too far away to get any detail. Maybe orange/red right leg above white and green on left? Also 1 Common Sand and a juv LRP. #Northantsbirds

A real nice surprise to see the stunning White-winged Tern (Childonias leucopterus) at Summer Leys NR today. It always seemed to keep its distance but gave good scope views. Here’s a heavily cropped pic. #northantsbirds #RareBirdsUK #UKBirding @wildlifebcn.org

Yes, doesn’t normally get seen so early. We saw it mainly in the hedge to the left of those trees and on the ground inside the stw, near the base of the 4 yellow posts. Hope it appears soon.
