Couldn’t stay for Part 2 of this fab event, unfortunately, but one thing’s for sure:

our community is alive and kicking and these conversations must continue as we adapt to the new scenarios.

Is the AI bubble about to burst soon? Who’s translating what these days? Is the tech bromance over yet?

A couple of takeaways from Part 1 of #ITD25, on Translation & AI:

- As demand for translated works grows, writers & translators face genAI being trained on pirated texts, without fair licensing/consent.

- Publishers + orgs are pushing back, reminding us that creativity is human.

The most poignant visual: this empty chair on stage, symbolising all the writers who have been imprisoned, detained, or killed for their expression or belief #ITD25
