Protecting seabirds from interactions with drones when doing wildlife surveys is important! As part of this we have been trialing propeller guards for our M350 airframe.

We did the same. Fulmar were the biggest issue. We've got two seasons worth of observations from three UAV models. Compared image quality and also doing analysis on boat V drone perspectives.

Wind turbines affect local wind regime, esp. downwind from them. How that affects marine ecosystems, through wind-related features like upwelling, is something we are still learning. But aspects like surface primary productivity seem to be affected. 🧪🌊

We did this last year with a slightly different sensor on the M350. This year we've got a better camera and can fly 160 - 200m from the cliff and get amazing images. Paper to come soon.
