The Paradox of Modern Medicine Testing has become so advanced that doctors now miss important elements of diagnosis.

Hospitals have come to prioritize lab tests over patient time, which can have dangerous side effects. Meghan O'Rourke on a new book, "The Elusive Body," and the makings of a diagnostic crisis:

If you have long covid and get recommended exercise therapy, look up “chronic fatigue and graded exercise therapy” to see it’s already been banned by lots of countries as a ‘therapy’ because of the damage we already know it does. Described as torture and permanently disabling by some medical bodies.

Long Covid shares many characteristics with M.E./CFS and my LC grew up into proper M.E.

Graded Exercise Therapy can be lethal for those who have ME/CFS so this isn’t surprising.

More surprising is the ignorance of so many medical professionals.

Exercise advice for long covid may be doing more harm than good Exercise has been touted as a tool for managing and treating long covid, but much of the evidence has neglected one of its most debilitating symptoms: post-exertional malaise

Exercise is always a good thing, right? Well, maybe not. For people with long covid or ME/CFS, it can be devastating. And science needs to catch up (all views my own blah blah blah) www.newscientist.com/article/2523...

On a red textured background a dark silhouette of the United States is overlaid with protest-style signs and illustrations. Signs include messages such as “Shutdown detention centers,” “Not here, not anywhere,” and “No ICE warehouse,” along with a megaphone graphic amplifying the message. Large white text reads “National Day of Action” and “Stop ICE Warehouse Detention.” At the bottom, the date “April 25, 2026” is displayed. The overall design evokes urgency and protest energy.

10,000 people.

That’s how many ICE plans to detain - cut off from healthcare, accommodations, and due process.

Detention causes harm. For disabled people, the risks are even greater.

On April 25, communities take action.

Does anyone in the Bay Area have a doctor who is familiar with hEDS?

At my first appt at the Stanford #mecfs #longcovid clinic he did a quick exam and said I most likely had it, but never had a formal diagnosis.

I’m also 99% certain I have #CCI which would align with this.

-good knowledge base from following the field closely for many years

-an appetite as it can be very draining

I really think every article about Long COVID should mention ME/CFS, but it’s an even more jarring omission because the picture is from an ME Action protest. @meactnet.bsky.social

This article also does not make it clear that people are continuing to develop Long COVID from reinfection.

"Life" as a #pwME in the UK in 2026.

Despite talk of "never-events" and a "final" delivery plan.

Nothing meaningful is being done. An active choice by those with the power to chose.

If you have the wrong illness, this country kills you slowly through 1000's of agonising cuts of neglect.
