Four large and beautiful mushrooms, Amanita muscaria, grow in a line on sloped dark soil against a decayed and moss-covered log. These mushrooms have tall white stipes - some as tall as about 10 inches ‐ and large bright red, red and orange, or red, orange, and yellow caps. The younger ones tend to be more solid bright red, while the older ones have the yellow and orange on their caps. A large Titan Arum (Corpse Flower) stands tall in a black nursery pot, surrounded by lush, colorful foliage. The central plant features a long, upright, tapered purple spadix emerging from a pale green, ribbed spathe that is currently closed around the base. The pot is topped with silvery-gray Spanish moss and sits amidst an array of tropical plants with striking red, pink, and green variegated leaves, including Ti plants and bromeliads.

- Male Golden Pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus).

The males are known for their bright golden-yellow crest and red underparts. They have a distinctive orange and black striped cape.

They're found in the dense, mountainous forests of western China.

A dense mossy forest interior at Federation Forest State Park in Washington, with tall evergreen trees rising through a carpet of green ferns, moss-covered logs, and soft forest undergrowth. Thick moss clings to branches and tree trunks throughout the scene, while filtered light from an overcast sky gives the woodland a muted, natural glow. The photo feels calm, quiet, and a little storybook-like.

While I was at Federation Forest State Park this week, this mossy stretch of forest caught my eye.

The moss-covered branches and deep green forest floor gave it a calm, almost storybook feel.
