Jan 10 Stock Hill Mine Cave - Downstream Series.
Duration 3-4 hrs
Following on from last year's trip to the Upstream section of Stock Hill Mine Cave, this trip will visit the Downstream Series. This relatively recent discovery contains some sporting passages and notable features such as the Font, COVID Crawl, Early Dors Pitch and the Crystal Palace. It is quite a physical trip with a lot of flat out crawling, energy sapping mud, plus difficult slippery traverses and little in terms of reward for your effort! Just was is needed to blow away the Xmas cobwebs.

πŸ§—πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ”¦ Wessex club trip down Stoke Hill Mine Cave today. It was accurately advertised as 'flat out crawling, energy sapping mud and slippery traverses'. Great fun still, and makes me feel I can now do anything!

Corner of foliage blanket showing error, causing mass unpicking.

🧢 I was so close! I was going to finish the complicated pattern before Stranger Things, do the border during, and be done before yarn shop visit tomorrow. But I made an error, had to frog 2 whole rows of both colours, and then kept going wrong as watching TV! #crochet #wip #foliageblanket #craftsky

πŸ‘Ÿ morning run as the sun came up today, which wasn't as picturesque as it sounds under the grey skies. First run without a single cough, and first cold shower since being ill too :) #moveformentalhealth #movetocave #slowrunning #running

Janet and anxiety I bumped into Janet at coffee morning today. I first met Janet at a Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Group a few years ago. Today, Janet told me that she went swimming and for the first time ever she managed to ’nearly’ enjoy it. Janet and myself at coffee morning Janet explained she had been scared of swimming ever since her first swimming β€˜lesson’ at school.

πŸ§—πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ”¦ Caving Log. Wed 12/11. Swildons' Hole. Myself, Jack and his colleague Tom. Good trip down to Sump 1 for Tom's first time caving. Swildons' is wet again, with the sump full and foam on the top and a proper stream over the 40' (which is only 8' )drop.

πŸ‘ŸI've had a couple of weeks off exercise whilst I recover from a virus and autumn has progressed whilst I've been ill. Tester run today which aggravated the cough so back sooner than planned for a hot shower. I want to be well enough to cave on Wed. #takeiteasy #moveformentalhealth #slowrunning

The entrance chamber has shifted in the last 30 years so it's unfamiliar to start with... Other than that though, the caves and the cavers are still asleep they have always been :)

πŸ”¦πŸ§—πŸ»β€β™€οΈAnother good #caving trip today. Only to Sump 1 and back in Swildons', but the addition of carrying the tackle sac and the water which has started to appear with the wet autumn weather presented more of a challenge. I left suitably tired out :) #spelunking #MoveForMentalHealth

Yes I think it would. Crochet is similar, if you make it wet you can stretch it out and increase the size.
