The Renters' Rights Act comes into force on 1 May 2026.
It will ban no fault evictions, fixed term tenancies will become peridic, landlords can only request 1 month's rent in advance and rental bidding will be banned.
The Green Party wants to extend rights for renters by introducing rent controls and providing 150, 000 new social homes nationally every year.

Last Saturday our #local #action team were door-knocking in the #Marygate area where they heard from local residents about issues regarding green #bins, double yellow #parking and the traffic lights off #Bootham. They then went for coffee afterwards as is tradition!
