Turns out I used today's #WIPSnips word in two forms in the introduction of Lord Ingrave in chapter 1!

He is the third character we meet.

There are several of these moments to varying degrees all throughout the story, including a scene that I'm in the middle of writing right now. But the biggest point of no return comes toward the very end of the first book, and is a huge spoiler. 🤫 #AprilAdventure

After getting a new perspective, Mireia reaches a point where as much as she doesn't want to be the Sea Mother, she's accepted it and isn't going to try to run from it anymore.

To me this is the moment she truly stops being a child, even though she still has much growing to do.

There is a point at which Alexander believes he has become a nationally infamous criminal!

The accuracy of his assessment I leave to the reader to judge 😂 but it does demand of Alexander that he commit to his course and find the way through.

Nusuku led our group off to the side, to where three other women and a young man stood waiting. They were all examining me intently. Nusuku indicated the whole group. “These women will thy claim test.” She gave me a stern look, and asked, “Wilt thou to cooperate promise?” I was examining the women. Middle-aged, mostly–Atosho was the youngest at maybe thirty–and focused. I had no idea about the clothing, but I had a decent impression they were all some variety of professors or academic researchers. Maybe one of them was a physicist? That I could ask about Time Eyes? Feeling a smidgen of actual hope, I nodded. “Promise.” I wasn’t going to get a better deal, I felt sure.
