Excited to announce: the EMBO Workshop: DNA damage response in cell physiology & diseases - 12–16 Oct 2026 - in stunning Sounio, Greece - fabulous speaker speaker lineup representing the cutting-edge of genome stability research: Abstract deadline: 17 May meetings.embo.org/event/26-dna... Join us!
Excited to share our new Nature study! 🧬
We (sidrituruci.bsky.social et al) discovered that CFAP20 helps clear stalled RNAPII, preventing harmful clashes with DNA replication machinery. This protects cells from R-loops and genome instability.

Organelles do NOT have a single uniform pH.
And if you think they must, because “protons diffuse fast,” this paper is for you.
A thread on why that assumption is wrong; and what we found instead. 🧵 1/n
📢 Telomere community: Registration and abstract submission are now open for the EMBO Workshop “Telomere function and maintenance in health and disease”, May 25–30, 2026, in Lazise, Italy 🇮🇹. Looking forward to an exciting meeting! Please re-post. meetings.embo.org/event/26-tel...

A screenshot of a post by the Jane Goodall Institute on LinkedIn stating that they learned that Dr. Goodall passed away due to natural causes in California while on her speaking to her current speaking tour there.
The world has lost its most powerful advocate for nature and hope. Yet many remain who will continue her legacy and I know she will continue to inspire generations more.
