Superbly confiding Hoopoe today at the Equestrian Centre near Gronant. Hot on the heels of yesterday's Wryneck at Burton Marsh Farm, and Wood Warbler at #RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands. Here's hoping the Dee Estuary purple patch continues... #BirdingWales

It's arrived! Pan-species Listing: How to Become a Super-Naturalist published by @pelagicpublishing. My first book.
I am so pleased with it. It looks amazing, all those photos of incredible British species really make this a very colourful book and a celebration of how fantastic our wildlife is.

With colder temperatures and easterly winds we are starting to see some arrivals of White-fronted Geese and Tundra Bean Geese, as well as the smart Smew. Numbers of Smew wintering in the UK fell by 84% between 1996/97 and 2022/23 #ukbirding

This is really great news. #Hoylake beach is a remarkable place and these dynamic green beach habitats are so so rare around our constrained and over-managed coastline. A big win for #nature. Well done @joshual951.bsky.social and all involved 💚

Exciting to catch up with the drake Bufflehead that graced Point of Ayr #RSPB over high tide today. No sign of rings & behaving like a wild bird.
