a giant curtain of white frothy water streams down from above in the distant background, setting an exquisite scene for a pair of photographers photographing the fantastic, ice and moss covered rock formations (tiny by comparison) in the foreshortened foreground

Novalis' is a popular, disease-resistant floribunda rose known for its large, cup-shaped, lavender-mauve blooms that fade to silvery-gray, offering a nostalgic, old-fashioned look. It's a vigorous, repeat-blooming shrub that thrives in full sun but tolerates partial shade, making it suitable for containers and colder climates (USDA Zones 5-9).

In a world of neat rows, choose to bloom out of line,
Let your colors run wild and your own spirit shine.
Unapologetically bold, unique in your grace,
Like a vibrant wildflower, light up your own space.

Photo by Kort Duce A great blue heron fishes at dusk at a nature area in Longmont, Colorado. In this horizontal color photograph, a weathered log stretches across the pond from left to right. At the left of center, a heron stands on one leg, intent on the water below as it hunts. The scene is almost perfectly mirrored on the pond's surface, reflecting both the bird and the branch. Soft, twilight clouds and the deepening blue of the twilight sky ripple gently in the water. It's a striking, contemplative scene-capturing the quiet beauty of the natural world.

Every once in a while, I like to watch this video clip of Joe Biden comforting a grieving Parkland family to remind myself what compassionate leadership looks like.
This is the stuff I truly miss.
A little egret stands in shallow, dark water, its bright white feathers glowing against the deep blue surface. It leans forward with its long black bill pointed straight down, poised to strike, while delicate plumes trail from its back like fine threads. The bird’s reflection ripples beneath it, slightly distorted in the water, creating a mirror image that echoes its curved neck and focused stance.
Good morning my cohost Rob @robcrank68.bsky.social has said “ today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Reflections, any bird reflection. The Alt Theme is #Robins, any Robin will do #ForJanet.” I’m going to go with a Little Egret. Love them. #birds #photography #ECK
