This month's book "Memoirs of The Bird Lady of the Yucatan Peninsula " from Barbara MacKinnon, so far a nice read of the history of exploration in the Yucatan as well as providing good insight on her life.
Included in WHO's list of Neglected Tropical Diseases, Chagas is an endemic disease in the Yucatán Peninsula, the defficient attention to cases highlights the lackluster health system in México, specially in rural areas.
