Photo of a black and white Gentoo Penguin and its small chick on the nest. Both are facing forward and the adult bird has its mouth wide open showing the red inside the gape, in an aggressive manner - the reason for this was that just out of frame was a Striated Caracara, a known predator of penguin chicks, getting too close for comfort.
