Sun is shining, coffee is good, time to write a few words

Zephyr is once again swooning over someone they real ought to get over 😁

#100wordsaday I finished a SECOND chapter! This hasn’t happened in so long.

Had a wonderful time being at an in person conference, getting a change of scenery and getting to LEARN!

But I'm also glad to be home, back to my usual routines, and for writing to feel like it will get its usual space back.

Kept my #100WordsADay streak going!

I'm still trucking along with #100WordsADay. The last few days have been hard. Probably because I'm on a course, so I'm a new place, learning new things. So, compared to my usual routine, there's not much brain space to be playing imaginary people on the side, so I don't sit down with ideas ready.

But I still did my 100 words! Because setting such a small goal makes it achievable even when the odds are stacked against me.

Second day of doing this. It's not removing all the 'I want to have done more, why is it already bedtime?' feelings, especially as editing was a frustrating mess this evening.

But it is helping.

I'm really feeling the creative energy BUT I have a super busy week and a bunch of editing to do.

So, I'm going to write 100 words a day. As an achievable goal, as a little treat, as a way to keep this vibe going.

#WritingCommunity, anyone want to join me and make this A Thing? #100WordsADay

Image of a vintage typewriter with the words 'A Drabble: A 100-word story' at the top of the image. Title of the story on the sheet of paper in the typewriter: 'Just a bit more'. Typed text reads: ‘Keep going’, she thought. ‘Get to that wonky tree.’ One step at a time, she made it to the wonky tree. Checking her watch, she realised how agonisingly close she was to 10k. ‘Just a bit further. You’ve got this’, she told herself. ‘Then you can eat all the pizza and chocolate you want.’ She lengthened her stride, steadied her breath, looked dead ahead, and focused on being in that moment. She dropped her shoulders just a bit more, fully relaxed, and felt completely unburdened. ‘This. This is why I run’, she thought. Arriving home, smiling, her watch read 10.76k.
