I just had a go at this. I am a pretty clever 48 year old and it's too annoying for me. I think an original #48k game, it was ported to the #C64 a year later. I mean. It is an interesting concept, but the "rotation" control method does not suit me. It don't suit me...

One of those games that passed my by on the #C64 and I remember a few people had it on both the #48K and also the #AtariST and #Amiga. This has a lot going on and once you know the controls, is a pretty decent, if busy arcade adventure. The music grates after... 10 seconds.

Lords of Midnight, The

Simply one of my favourite #C64 games of all time and it was written on a #48K. SMH. The screen below, when appearing as you are traversing a mountain range, or forest, genuinely instills TERROR. Genius game by Mike Singleton. Available on many modern platforms.

A classic loading screen for me this one - FInders Keepers on the C64. A massive grey mouse is poking itself out of a doorway leading down to an external spiral staircase in the grounds of the castle. The Magic Knight is bounding along in full plate armour, visor up, sword held aloft and a bag of coins spilling under his arm. A massive Mastertronic logo and a few castle towers and crenellations fill the screen.

This is a real #C64 retro heart-warmer! The first of the Magic Knight games, written for the #48K & ported to other machines. A great little flick screen arcade adventure, with 2 larger scrolling mazes. Find objects, combine or just sell them. The title SID is NOSTALGIA.

Whilst this loading screen might look like something from a #48k it is, or so I believe, the loading screen of the #C64 version of HS. We all know it is a classic game, really very good - single load. And it was used in that UK kids TV Quiz SHow thing. Halcyon Days. Waggle.

That tactile "rubber keys" was cool. I also liked I some Speccy games every time you pressed a key the Speccy would make a teeny "blit" noise. 🥰 Atari 2600 -> C64 -> A1200 -> PC for me. My mate Phil had a #48k and I used to love playing it in his dining room. Halcyon Days.

A port of the genius #48k #Speccy game, the #C64 version adds non-clolour clash, some lovely hi-res graphics and some neat SFX. I always foung this game super tricksy as a kid, because I didn't know WTAF I was doing... I shall endeavour to try harder! Give it a go. It's great!
