Nave. Adjacent to crossing arch #StAndrewStogursey #Somerset for #AdoorableThursday
To the left, the blocked access to the rood turret (external). To the right a blocked large pointed arch with carved panels to the soffit. But where did it go? That's the question. #AdoorNoMore

A #DoorInMidAir but sadly also #AdoorNoMore. This and the accompanying rood screen and loft (now lost) would have been part of the late C15 nave rebuild. It would only be used for 50 years or so
Looks like it once had two, but this, sadly, is now #AdoorNoMore

On reflection it's been a while since Mouse has seen one of these. "Let the debate about north winds and the devil be reinvigorated" say Mouse #ADoorNoMore #DoorwayThursday

West elevation of north aisle #StMaryEastBrent #Somerset on #DoorwayThursday
North of nave #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #DoorwayThursday #AdoorNoMore
Curious (but pointed) geometry to head. The label and stops were definitely not born with the rest of the doorway
Blocked priest's door south of chancel (interior) #StPeterPortishead #Somerset
It's a terrible photo, but it's here for completeness #DoorwayThursday #AdoorNoMore A thread (Part 3 of 3) #OgeeLove
The east wall of the nave impinges on the #Ogee chancel priest's door (cut back to reveal to end of the label and head stop) #StPeterPortishead #Somerset
This suggests that the end of the nave has been (at least) rebuilt #DoorwayThursday #AdoorNoMore A thread (Part 2 of 3)
Fabulous redundant and blocked priests door to the south of the chancel #StPeterPortishead #Somerset
Low moulded ogee with finialed label and (residual) head stops. Very finely carved and unusual too #DoorwayThursday #AdoorNoMore A thread (Part 1 or 3)
Similar to the church at Loxton this doorway matches the rood door but seems to be in the wrong place to lead to it. There's no corresponding external arch either. It does make a good frame for the Madonna and child though, Mouse suppose
#StPeterBleadon #Somerset #AdoorNoMore
North of nave #StPeterBleadon #Somerset #DoorwayThursday #AdoorNoMore
In the same way that Mouse imagine a cashiered officer having his epaulettes ripped off and his sword snapped over his commanding officer's knee, Mouse imagine this door's label and stops being chipped off
Described as a much modified and now blocked Romanesque doorway, Mouse would be amazed if any more that 10% is actually post-Conquest if indeed anything at all. North of nave (surprise) #StLawrenceWestbury #Somerset #AdoorNoMore #DoorwayThursday #FrankenDoor
Former door in a church.
Behind the organ in All Saints Church Nunney, Somerset.

The cloister and domestic buildings supporting the Priory of the #HolyTrinityChristchurch #Dorset lay (as they usually do) to the South of the Priory Church. This small, weathered double chamfered pointed doorway gave access from the south aisle #AdoorNoMore
Supposed entrance to the second floor of the #NormanHouseChristchurch. Perfect Romanesque arch but does that look like it's been reset to you? Or is it just Mouse? #AdoornoMore
Sadly now #AdoorNoMore. The removal of the dressed stone to leave just the rubble fill is rather like looking at a skeleton once the flesh has been stripped away by time #ChristchurchCastle #ChristchurchInDorset
