In a daily Peanuts comic strip, Snoopy, as an astronaut atop his doghouse in a full astronaut flight suit and helmet, pilots his craft near the moon, which is unseen. He says, "Here's the world-famous astronaut approaching the moon .." In the second panel he looks down, and says, "Fantastic!" In the third panel, he adds, "It looks like a dirty beach ..." In the final panel Snoopy thinks, "Or, has someone already said that?" Famously at the time, this was a quote from astronaut Jim Lovell during Apollo 8.

In 1969 Apollo's main computer had 32 KB of RAM, 72 KB of ROM, and a 43 kHz processor.

Wow. They even managed to shrink the computer to less than cubic foot, whatever that is in real world units. (less than 30 liters / dm³?)
