Greetings, #ASECS friends. I'm running for the ASECS Board of Directors (member-at-large). I'd be grateful if you'd consider voting for me (the election opens tomorrow). I would love to serve an organization that means a great deal to me.

Here's one followup to the #ASECS panel I participated in yesterday: Rachel Tils, Hilary Havens, Clovis Gladstone and I discussed what it's like to construct a dataset coming at these things as a humanist.
The Queer & Trans caucus at #ASECS has given so many scholars community, encouragement, & the means to find their creative/critical voice upon the terrain of the long 18thC.
Finished my #ASECS panel this afternoon & pleased & relieved to have had a great discussion & no mishaps
Spending this morning trying to finish my #ASECS paper that uses Kafer's "political/relational" model of disability to discuss Burney, Scott, and Austen. In 12 minutes.
#ASECS member friends, please don't forget to vote in the executive board elections! You should have gotten a reminder from Benita this morning.
I had a great time at the SEASECS conference in Savannah. My article but first let's have a dance which was published Fall 2023 one honorable mention for the Annabelle Jenkins prize in theater and performance studies. They did a nice write-up on the groundbreaking study

Hi academics, do you connect on X during conferences?
The Doctor Is In at #ASECS wants to figure out how to publicise and share conference information for our spring online conference.
Please share this and your thoughts.

#ASECS members do this now
Always impressed by those who make it to/through the last panel at #asecs.
A table with a black covering, and a runner that says Broadview Press is standing in a carpeted room. On the table there is a display of books set up on stands.
Hey, #ASECS we're here and ready to talk books!

Just booked my train ticket to #ASECS in Toronto!
Next week marks the 5th anniversary of 18th Century #dnd, my 1st ever DM experience, running a homebrew Strawberry Hill adventure for 17 players at #ASECS. Since the pandemic we’ve moved to biweekly sessions.
Tonight, after 15 months, they finished their 1st published adventure.
After years of one-shots (1st annually at #ASECS & then biweekly online) #18CDnD gamely took on a full campaign in 2021. Next time, they’ll reach the end of that adventure.
Not sure what comes next for these fictional & nonfictional 18th century PCs, but I’m glad to be their DM.
I started livetweeting many years ago -- not actual plays, but academic conferences. A handful of #ASECS (Am. Society for 18th Century Studies) members would livetweet panels so that we could "attend" more sessions than we could actually go to. We were considered Eccentric.
At my undergrad, when you ran for student government you were ONLY allowed to say “elections are happening, this is when to vote, I am running for XYZ.”
In that spirit: #ASECS members, the Executive Board Election has begun. I’m running for a Member At Large seat.
Person who reads my #ASECS survey. I'm sorry. But you did ask. I just have weird, unpopular politics.
Totally gutted that because my extended MS deadline was the #ASECS extended deadline, so when I handed in my MS late late, I mssed all the ASECS panels
:'(
Not this year, but someday soon, I want to propose an #ASECS session that's just 18C D&D with @farr_jason @travisclau and whoever else in @18disability is game to play with @dnddisability gear & @mustangsart's #CombatWheelchair. Does that make me irretrievably weird? (Duh)
#asecs #191 (right before we all collapse) — thinking about archives! Me passing the #caswelltest by only citing archivists! More importantly, thinking about making people and voices more visible!
If you've expressed interest in the Completely Unofficial #ASECS #DND adventure for this year, can you DM me?
It’s becoming increasingly clear that I/we need to do some real data work on the 50 years of #ASECS to see where we’ve been and where we are going — how far back do we have CFPs, @ASECSOffice ?
New #ASECS prizes! #SrinivasAravamudan Prize, Mary D. Sheriff Travel Research, #RaceEmpire Caucus Grad Prize. @asecsgrad @ASECSWomen
