My sky is completely clear, but currently too light for pictures. If it's still clear in a couple of hours I might capture the constellation of Corona Borealis. Not to be confused with the Northern Lights. 🔭 🧪 #astrophotography

1/ Between February and April, after nearly two months of relentless effort (and without even counting the attempts from the past three years), I finally managed—almost—to get to grips with the complex Jellyfish Nebula (IC 443)... >>>

🔭 Messier 5 je krásna guľová hviezdokopa v súhvezdí Hada.
Ide o jednu z najstarších v našej galaxii, ktorá je vzdialená od nás ~24 500 svetelných rokov.

My first ever attempts at a bit of slow exposure #astrophotography with a real camera. Very much still figuring things out. Just me and the coyotes and the wind up on our neighborhood hill 🤣. I'm very much a noob. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I decided that 25.5 hours was finally enough for this wider shot of the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51). I shot it in both LRGB & HaLRGB. I also included a tighter crop that looks surprisingly sharp since it was taken with a 400mm focal length telescope.

I took this photo of the sunset afterglow last October using Jia's OM1. It can focus sharply on stars for astrophotography landscapes. The camera was just sitting on top of a fence post for the exposure, stabilization keeping things sharp 😊

Astro post! It's been a bit, but here's an image of a favorite subject I captured over the winter: Thor's Helmet Nebula. This object trails Orion in the night sky and is pretty low on my horizon.
