Saw a well-intentioned poster pointing out various forms of microaggression. One caught my attention: not GIVING eye contact when someone is speaking. And I thought holy hell what an ignorantly #allistic microaggression against my #ASD folk out there!

I think it’s unfair to say no #allistic people can know the experience of living on the #spectrum.

I have met two therapists who, on top of their education and experience providing psychotherapy were so empathic that our dialogue felt sincere and complete.

I just learned a new (to me) #allistic bonding word. Twinning. They say it when two people like the same thing.

If we go to a cafe together and choose the same food we are twinning.

They’re so cute with their little ways of communicating the little social things that are special to them.

Not everything is a spectrum and not everyone is on the same spectrum. Words have meaning and there are criteria’s for a reason. Binaries do exist. We all have our differences and we need to learn to appreciate them. Not make everyone the same. #autistic #allistic #actuallyautistic #ASD

Being #neurodivergent, for me, means I am often, genuinely perplexed at how ineffectively #allistic people communicate. Like hinting instead of directly asking for whatever it is you want... Or being passive aggressive, which is honestly still kinda just hinting. It’s just aggressive, angry hinting.

The number of NTs posting “kinda autistic” BS like its cute, funny, or anything but #allistic #appropriation seems to be rising… so is my blocklist.

Step the fuck off with that shit.

#Allistic people rarely, if ever, wonder if they are #autistic. Seriously.

If you often think you might be autistic, hit this place up and take the actual tests that PsyD's use to assess. If the numbers support you, time to consider whether or not you need a formal diagnosis (self-DX is valid).
