Lamias eat the same things as humans, but tend to lean more towards savory dishes rather than sweet. Fullblood lamias eat a lot at once, but usually only once or twice a week, so the cost isn't much different. Half and quarter lamias eat like regular humans.

All lamias have heat vision, something that's unique to their race. They can find heat sources and locate warm blooded beings, even hidden/obscured.
Fullblood lamias can taste the air for minute changes; air borne poisons, a coming storm, pheromones, etc.

It's more noticeable in older buildings, with their distinct lack of stairs and wide, open halls to accommodate for the larger fullblood lamias and their 6+meter tails.

All lamias have fangs with venom. It's not lethal, but it will paralyze. They also have heat vision, something unique to them. Fullblood lamias can do impresive things with their bodies; climb, swim and even jump great length at surprising speed.

Fullblood lamias have a unique fighting style that involves wrapping their snake body around their opponent, striking with their four arms and/or biting. Usually all three. Half- and quarter lamias fight like humans, with the added bonus of venomous bites.

scale like patterns on cheeks and forehead, shoulders and back and upper arms. Some also have patterns on their legs.
All lamias have slightly point ears and fangs with poison. Some even have forked tongues, like a regular human tongue but split in two.

Enmaar is known for it's wine, which is both sweet and strong. Another sweet and strong/spicy food is their famous melon curry, usually made with watermelon. It's often on the spicier side.

Like most buildings in the Empire, it's a mix between arabic, mayan and roman influences. Most villages and small towns have cubical sand colored houses with flat roofs where they grow herbs and fruit, while finer houses resemble ancient roman villas more.

Enmaar's three major exports are horses, tea and wine. The whole country is known for their horses with a strong, lean build and mild temperament. They're sought after by nobles on both continents. It's a highly regulated trade, but very lucrative.->

Silver river runs all the way from the snow capped mountains, splits like tree roots and supplies Enmaar with plenty of cold, fresh water. Sometimes even silver, like the name suggests, though much less now. But other interesting things may wash down... 🤭

Enmaar is governed by the local merchants guild, with representatives from the most influential families/businesses. The top 3 represented are horse, tea and wine trade. Serara's best friend's mother Topaz is the current head of the wine traders.

-> sprawling tea plantations to the south, crisscrossed by small rivers. The market square is big, thanks to all the traders coming and going. It's not far from Tiger forest where monster roam, but few are ever seen in town thanks to the guards and adventurers calling it home.

Xhavann is the most cheerful, even when things are dire. Not even being hunted by assassins puts a dent in his attitude. The only thing that brings him down is his power waning and he can't figure out why.
His attitude is seen as him being clueless.

One favorite things is the flying cities. There's only 3, and one is permanently anchored, but there are more flying islands that could be build on. I talked about Tourmaline during #Septopolis last year and I'd love to develop it and the other cities more.

Serara sleeps somewhat heavily, especially after a busy day. She needs dark and quiet to sleep properly. Bonus if there's a soft breeze.
Zaki is a light sleeper. He can sleep anywhere, anyhow, but he tends to push himself to exhaustion, making him grumpy.

Zaki... not so much. He feels he HAS to do everything himself and not rely on others. That's what he was taught. Boy has some serious trusts issues. 😆

The gods listen to the prayers of their faithful people and help in subtle ways. They won't give you a coin purse if you ask for money, but you might get an unexpected pay raise at work.
Gods don't deal with curses, though. That's demon stuff.

Depending on which god they follow, priests duties differ slightly. The Gray God's priests tend to the dead like undertakers while Mother Nature's priests are in charge of orphanages. All priests serve their community in some capacity. ->

The Empire's pantheon consists of many gods, most are revered. The Sun is the primary god. The four secondary gods are:
Father Sky - Weather.
Mother Nature - Flora, fauna, fertility
Lady Luck - Commerce, hunting, games

Serara and Zaki are both used to blood and injuries in their jobs as a doctor and assassin respectively. Gore to some degree.
Xhavann, however, faints at the sight of blood. He feels ill and lightheaded, especially if it's his own blood.

All gods of the pantheon want to be worshipped differently. Some want offerings of food o drink, others prefer songs, a play or game, etc. No blood sacrifices.
The most common act of worship is to burn a small bouquet of flowers, praying on the smoke.

In the north jousting games are popular, as well as the Grand Magic Games which sometimes feature animals.
In the Empire gladiator games are waning in popularity but still practiced. Horse shows are big in Dahinar, and villages often have goat or dog shows.

Zaki is notably quiet. Yan comments he "walks like a cat". Only his leather armor makes sound, but not much. He talks little and rarely raises his voice.
Serara can't sneak and the tins and bottles in her bag makes a little sound. And she has a strong voice.

Zaki would be a good detective, but also a red herring because he's an assassin. He's not the killer, tho everyone believes he is. Xhavann is probably the victim; his thieving ways caught up to him, and I can't make up my mind who is the killer. Cayenne, maybe.
