Pleased to see that #FollowFriday is a thing here, it was always something I loved on the earlier days of Twitter!
My #FollowFriday picks this week: @samuel.bsky.team for excellent platform updates, @edent.tel who put on a fabulous #bclxiii recently, and @mplacona.com who is #buildinginpublic!
A laptop with stickers one of which says “My name is No!, Prounouns are No!”
Picked up some stickers at BarCamp London and channelled Meghan Trainor #bclxiii
At #bclxiii (barcamplondon thirteen) I told people (and myself) that I’d only been at #bcl3 and #bclx (many other barcamps just not the London one).
Turns out I was lying. There’s evidence that I was at #bcl8 too - flic.kr/p/8TXtum talking about Tuttle2Texas of all things.
People sitting around at tables having coffee and waiting for Barcamp to start.
Early Morning at Barcamp London #bclxiii
I had a fun day yesterday at #bclxiii . The event was really well organised, the venue was nice, the food was great...but more importantly, the people and sessions were awesome.
I attended sessions on schema.org, supercomputers, community management, long distance running (and being healthy) […]
A stitched representation of the Glasgow Rose, designed by Charles and Margaret Rennie Mackintosh. Its stitched onto white felt, with two colours of pink thread.
Margaret standing in front of a display screen, showing the title of the presentation "Open Source Embroidery" along with some pictures of stitched patterns.
The first screen from the p5.js talk, showing a description of the p5 javascript library, along with a picture of a group of people standing on a lawn.
The grid of talks at Barcamp London, along the top are the times of the sessions, and down the left hand side is the list of rooms. In the grid are postcards giving descriptions of all the talks.
Yesterday I attended #BarCampLondon for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were many interesting sessions.
I gave a presentation on #OpenSource #Embroidery, looking at TurtleStitch and #Inkstitch. Our #TurtleStitch resources are available here: www.warwick.ac.uk/turtlestitch

Did anyone at #BCLxiii get a photo of the completed bingo sheets?
I foolishly forgot to do so.
Thanks!

My new current favourite laptop sticker. Grabbed from the Bar Camp London sticker table. #bclxiii
me and doop through a diffraction grating so the glasses are showing the red green and blue lines of the spectrum!
me and @doop.bsky.social dropping our first album at #bclxiii
Had a lovely time at #bclxiii #barcamp #london today
Including an interesting talk by @alice.mosphere.at, which finally inspired me to get this account setup properly and make the move from that other place
Now to find some people to follow...
Fantastic to spent some time post #bclxiii chatting to @samuel.bsky.team about this place and the ways it is and isn’t similar to ActivityPub, Twitter, and other platforms present and past.
The Bluesky team have an incredible evangelist on their hands. I’m suitably impressed.
I had an excellent educational and enriching experience at BarCamp London. There were talks, discussions, practical creative sessions, fun, food and Lego. A great, well run, event. 10/10 #bclxiii

At #BCLxiii we curated a list of participants' favourite books.
Check it out! www.librarything.com/catalog.php?...
A glass partition wall with cards and sticky notes stuck to it, arranged into a grid with time on the x axis and rooms on the y.
Glad I went to #BarCampLondon 13 ( #bcl13 / #bclxiii ).
Downside? 3 hashtags.
Upside? Everything else (-:
Good to listen to talks. Great to be in Discussions. Zod dam awesome to meet friends old and new.
Thank you to @edent.tel and all the organisers for an insightful day (-:
Interesting enough, #BCLxiii rooms have been named after planets, and the overlords decided for Saturn in my case, representing ‘structure by governing the establishment of rules, routines and systems that bring order to our lives’.
For this session it sounds perfect to me.
Thanks for all the cool conversations at #bclxiii today; sorry to vanish early but my brain has fallen off a cliff
This is the paper my #bclxiii talk on discomfort in gaming was based on if people are interested (even if you didn't come to the actual talk!) eprints.whiterose.ac.uk/149901/1/Unc...
Some hand written notes and a mind map.
Good intro to #opensource Community Relationship Manager (CoRM) software SavannahHQ.com by @popey.me at #BarCampLondon #bcl13 #bclxiii.
I also have an audio recording (minus the question and answer) plus some pictures of the slides.
I'm sold.
Will now see how I can help and use the project 🙂

Today’s Barcamp London XIII unconference grid is up, and I’m looking forward to my ‘Preserving Copyright by Preventing A.I. Content Scraping - Let’s Geek Out’ session.
I assume it’ll be fun and most insightful …
#BCLxiii
Interesting talk on Bluesky by @alice.mosphere.at at #bclxiii which has, ironically, convinced me that the fediverse / mastodon / ActivityPub is probably going to win out as the better network in time.
It’s all feeling a bit VHS vs Betamax right now.
2 quotes I captured at #BarCampLondon in the discussion on political polarisation.
