Inside the House of Healing in Act 2. A tiefling stands by the bedside of Arabella's dead parents, looking at them with a sorrowful expression. In the background, the rest of the team has already moved on from the sight. Durge and Gale inspect the room together, and Astarion pilfers a chest.
"The important moral of my little story is that you live through this unique moment of absolute despair only once. It won't be the last time you feel desperate and hopeless, and maybe you wish you could just run away and die in the sun to make it all stop. But nothing is like that first time, when you learn that it is possible to feel this lost, that there can be so much crushing dread. It feels like the end of it all, and it destroys something in you that can be destroyed only once. I was there. And now, I'm here!" "That you are."
The small graveyard next to the Last Light Inn. Two fresh graves have joined the soil. They're piles of rubble, each with a roughly cut piece of wood as a gravemarker. A lantern stands between the markers, illuminating the spot. Between the two graves sits a teddy bear holding a bouquet of wilted flowers. Across the yard, Dylan sits on a ledge, elbows on his knees, head on his hands. He stares at the two graves. His hair is undone and falls over his back and shoulders and into his face. Behind him stands Astarion, in his camp pants and wearing Dylan's camp shirt. He has his arms crossed and looks at Dylan with a light frown. He also carries Dylan's violin that he had 'stolen' from Dylan's deserted tent. The scenery is dark and rather bleak, with the lantern and a torch being the only small sources of warm light. The background shows the dome that protects the Last Light Inn.

Yet now, now... he felt less given to lavish Her with such, but felt more than capable of spinning them for a mortal man.

Then, the rain started. Although calling it rain was like calling a fireball a dying ember. A lightning bolt slashed through the darkness, and water fell from the sky, drenching everyone within seconds. Durge hadn't been joking when he suddenly warned everyone about the sudden change in the atmosphere merely an hour ago. Lae'zel, who had previously dozed off by the fire, had sprung back to action immediately and taken over command with such natural firmness and authority that everyone had just fallen in line. Even Durge, whose head had been in the clouds as he was reading the atmospheric tension of the approaching thunderstorm. Thanks to her and everyone's quick work and thinking, they had secured their camp before walking against the rain was like walking through a quagmire. "Good luck!" Gale patted D'ylân's arm and followed Durge inside his tent, quickly securing the flap from inside before the gust could tear it out of his hands.
"Man, I hope it's not gonna last long. It's gonna be so boring without all of you!" Karlach groaned. "Hey, has anyone seen Astarion?" "Probably hiding in his tent, taking his precious nails to safety when the hubbub started!" D'ylân laughed. "See ya in the morning, Sparky! Sleep well!" "Ha! You, too, Cricket!" D'ylân waited until she had safely taken shelter. Lae'zel yelled at him to go now and disappeared inside her own tent, with her beloved battle axe, of course. "What about you?" he shouted at the mummified figure that stood solemnly in the path that connected their camp with the beach. "Thou must not concern yourself with the matters of those experienced in death." Withers never raised his voice, and yet, it reached D'ylân's long ears unbothered by the howling winds. "Just join Gale and Durge if things get too wild for you. Take care!" His friendly wave went unmirrored. Smirking to himself, he walked towards his tent. The image of Withers sitting between Durge and Gale like a strict governess keeping a sharp eye on two high-born, horny youngsters had potential for an amusing song he could contribute to their next campfire spree.
