Of course, Society & Media won't talk to us about Transgender issues! Because we just do not make for *good copy* and hence do not matter!
They all want pretty #BeautyQueens with #Page3 lifestyles to tell the LGBTQ story! That is not our story, but theirs!
That is just how it is! “Que Sera Sera”!
They had their struggles, but they never had to struggle for basic necessities like we had to!
They had their Friends & Family with them on their Transition journey which we never did!
Perhaps that is why these #BeautyQueens lack the sensitivity or empathy to even begin to understand!
I understand where these #BeautyQueens are coming from!
Our life experiences are what shape us!
They lived very different lives! They had the privilege of having Family & Friends stand with them on their journey!
They never had to go through the trauma that we went through!
Have #BeautyQueens forgotten how THEY behaved towards other Trans women who were not as privileged?
That Fat Cow who told me I was “too ugly to Transition” stood on a stage with Politicians calling for “sensitivity” in front of TV cameras!
Oh the Hypocrisy of this lot!🤦♀️
Today, I see “A” & her friends from that #BeautyQueens group go around the Lecture /TEDx circuit, being invited to speak at Software companies & Television shows where they speak of the need for “sensitivity” and such towards Gender & Sexuality issues.
OH THE HYPOCRISY! 🙄
Four years later, when we met again at the Hospital after our surgery, "A" had her family & friends with her throughout the recovery.
I was all alone! But not ONCE did she check up on me!
She did check up on 2 other Indian girls also recovering at the same time – fellow #BeautyQueens like her!🙄
I am a conservative, Malayalee girl but I am NOT a prude! Why should I dress up in provocative, revealing clothes just to "fit in" with the #BeautyQueens?
And BTW, THAT is way too much cleavage!

I will never forget the looks that one of these #BeautyQueens gave me!
That Fat Cow did this thing of looking me up from top to bottom and back up again with this smirky 🙄 look on her face!
That, THAT, I will NEVER forget!
#BeautyQueens took one look at me and made up their minds that I didn’t fit in!
That is true – I did NOT fit in!
But the worst part was that THEY chose to misgender & deadname me!
It is one thing to face this from cis-people! Quite another thing to face this from Trans girls!
I was hoping to talk about Dating advice but I was looking for a real relationship!
#BeautyQueens were more interested in finding a rich guy who would pay for their lifestyle or finding the next f**k-boy with a big U-know-what! 🙄
CLEARLY, we were from different worlds!
The #BeautyQueens were referencing brands of Clothes, Bags & Makeup that I had never even heard of!
Balencia?! Hermès Birkin?! la Prairie?!! Woteetees?! 🤔
I came home and googled some of these brands and was just blown away by the prices! How can these girls even afford all this? 😱
I was hoping to talk about my Transition, finding a good Trans friendly endo in Bangalore - my key challenge back then - and so on!
#BeautyQueens were more interested in talking about a Sandeep Khosla party they wanted to go to, what they should all wear to that & their next girls trip to Bali!
I will NEVER forget my first encounter with the #BeautyQueens at a CCD cafe on MG Road which is where their “gang” usually met.
They were all dressed up like fashion models at a #Page3 party, wearing makeup & outfits that cost more than my rent!
I was dressed in Jeans & a TShirt. 🙄
You can judge me now, but back then I wanted to be a part of that #BeautyQueens / #MeanGirls group!
I was a lonely Trans Woman without friends or family and when you find a group like this, you just want to “fit in”!
Back then, I just didn’t understand that Toxicity can take many forms!
But I am sorry to say that the most toxic, racist & Casteist people I met during my own Transition were not cis-folks but this sorry bunch of #BeautyQueens / #MeanGirls! 🙄
Back then, I did not understand the meaning of the word “Privilege” as well as I do now!
